![]() How did Insomniac get started? Great question! Founded in 1994, Insomniac Games is an independent game developer with studios in Burbank, Calif. and Durham, NC. Prior to founding Insomniac, CEO/President Ted Price spent a few years as controller of a start-up medical company, where he decided that life in games must be easier. (He was wrong…) Fortunately, he found two very talented programmers, Alex and Brian Hastings, and together they laid the foundation for Insomniac’s first success,Disruptor. So…what has Insomniac done that I may have heard of? Well, in 16 years, we’ve sold more than 35 million console videogames worldwide. (Not too shabby, right?) All of our titles have been developed exclusively for PS one, the PlayStation 2, and the PlayStation 3 -- where we’ve developed more games and sold more copies collectively than any competitor so far. Insomniac has produced three of PlayStation’s most recognizable franchises: Resistance, Ratchet & Clank and the first three Spyro the Dragon games. Hopefully you’ve heard of them! OK, I get it. So how do you do it? As of 2010, Insomniac Games has grown to 195 hard-working, creative souls and remains completely independent despite a close working relationship with our publisher, Sony Computer Entertainment. As an independent studio, we create and develop the kind of games that we’d like to play, instead of some boring license or port forced on us by corporate overlords. It also means we follow our own production plan that allows us to stagger development so that we have smaller teams, time to visualize a game in pre-production and longer timelines to add final polish. Hmm…that sounds pretty cool. Any job openings? We’re always looking for bright minds to join our team. Check out our Careers page to learn more and apply either for our California or North Carolina studio! |

![]() The Naughty Kennel is a Naughty Dog fansite. This website aims at growing a community of Naughty Dog fans with interesting features. It's the successor to the JAKPRO Network - a Jak And Daxter fansite, by JaKhris, which had been launched in October 2005. With the Jak saga fading away, and the Uncharted one taking over, there wasn't much left for JAKPRO to do; though there was URPRO, a sub-website about Uncharted and Resistance (Insomniac Games), it never gained enough popularity. With JAKPRO going down, and thusly URPRO, something new was necessary. The Naughty Kennel was then set in motion, as Project NK. The development started back in May 2010, with JaKhris, the Webmaster, as the only Staff member, doing the design and the programing of the features available. After 8 longs months of coding - the Naughty Kennel opened on December, 24th 2010, recently after Uncharted 3 was revealed. |

![]() ABOUT HIGH IMPACT High Impact Games is a Video Game company formed by developers who want to make artistic, highly creative and fun games in a friendly environment. We don't believe you can make good Video Games in an assembly-line fashion, the way you would make transistor radios or cassette players. A game is only as good as the people who work on it. We want talented people working together in a tight-knit group. High Impact Games is a place where creative people can express themselves, and where our tools and technology will help them do that in an efficient way. Our company will never feel like a corporate office with meetings, middle management and bureaucracy. It's more like a club house for talented, hardworking people who want to make great games. It's not a place for big egos - we want the kind of talent that respects everyone on the project. Everyone gets a chance to express their ideas and contribute to the whole. We are not looking for a corporate cash-out; we are looking to perfect our way of making wonderful games that are fun for our audience. High Impact Games is a company founded to support its people. We exist to make successful games in a place that makes us excited to come to work every day. |
