| This is our second edition of the Gold Nugget project. Sorry for being late, so without further ado the question this week come from min222002, titled: Can a game be good enough to change how you look at all games? First off let me start off by saying that Im an "old school" gamer and back in the day we didnt have such things as trophies and online play, not to mention great graphics. Because of this I can say that I never got into these options, except maybe graphics, and for the most part I approach them as more of a bonus to the game than a reason to buy it. Now, having said that, I have to say that Ive been playing a game lately that has completely changed all of that. For me this little gem is called Demon's Souls and I honestly cant get enough of it and its literally been the game Ive been waiting for for years. It has everything that I want: graphics, story, original online elements that dont take from the game, challenge, replayability and the list goes on. Before this game if I got a trophy I usually didnt give it much thought (my sig should prove this point nicely) and I would just keep playing. For the first time Im going to try and get a platnum trophy and even though I have a way to go I really want to get evey single little bonus this game has to offer. I have other games that have online options but I really didnt play that part of them that much but now I find myself getting online for some pvp or co-op just for the enjoyment of it. Its changed how I look at games and its the new standard for me. So is there a game out there that set a new standard for you? A game that once you finished it you couldnt see yourself settling for the same tired worn out formula that can curse any console of any generation. Is it an older game or a new release or was it a series of games like FF? What are your thoughts? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ b]So SP, can games change your viewpoint on gaming? -Is there a game that has set a new standard for you? -Is there a game you just can stop playing over an dover again? | Quote (Ratchet_Co) -Is there a game that has set a new standard for you? I'd say Call of Duty 4. It showed me the advantages of having great multiplayer in a game. Yet at the same time, I got so sick of Call of Duty's formula and now I hardly touch it. Quote (Ratchet_Co) -Is there a game you just can stop playing over an dover again? Ratchet & Clank

| -Is there a game that has set a new standard for you? Hmm.... No, not really. I think that's because I like to play a wide variety of games. -Is there a game you just can stop playing over an dover again? Uncharted, R&C, Kingdom Hearts, J&D.... I play all of my favorite games again from time to time.

| Thanks for all your comments guys, interesting to see you all think Ratchet and Clank is addictive . -Is there a game that has set a new standard for you? Several games have set new standards since I've started gaming. Most notably were Metal Gear Solid 4, Jak II, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Ratchet and Clank 3: Up your Arsenal. MGS4 pushed itself to the limit and it was astounding to see the amount of content that could be accesed in one game. Jak II displayed it's technical prowress with no loading screens, which is extremely impressive, not to mention it has a great story. Sly 2 showed that platformers can have very engaging storylines with characters you really care about. Ratchet and Clank 3 set the perfect balance between a platformer and a shooter by taking the best elements of both genres and integrating them into one awesome game. -Is there a game you just can stop playing over and over again? All of the games I listed above fit for this question, the reason why is explained above. Aside from those games, there are several game that I always play. Prince of Persia, for it's impressive visuals and gameplay. Crash Team Racing, for it's addictingly fun gameplay. And Crash Bandicoot 2 because of the varied levels that are fun.
