All Insomniac Games wanted to talk about this week was its impressive new deal with EA Partners to produce a new franchise for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. They didn't want to talk about the game -- at all. I did, however, manage to squeeze three tiny details out of Insomniac CEO Ted Price.

I knew Price wouldn't answer anything directly about his new baby, so I decided to take another approach and ask what principles of Insomniac design might apply to what they're working on.

"I gotta be careful here because I don't want to give away any details about the project," he laughed over the phone, when we spoke on Monday afternoon, just prior to the announcement. "So, I'm gonna give you a fairly generic answer, which may not be useful. [laughs] Our goal, as always with our products, is to deliver a super-polished experience for players, something that will have a great story, makes 'em happy. Again, I have to stop there because then I'll start getting too specific."

So, here's what Insomniac can promise with their next game:

• A super-polished experience
• A great story
• It'll make you happy
